The company page is https://www.giveaway.ninja/about. The app began from a simple observation: standalone giveaway tools such as KingSumo had a loyal following, but nothing brought that experience natively into Shopify, where entries could connect directly to orders, customers and real store data. The product focus is the purchase side of giveaways: a complete purchase-entry system that lets merchants push specific products, boost average order value and attribute the sales a giveaway generates. Official profiles: https://apps.shopify.com/giveaway-ninja (Shopify App Store, rated 5.0 from 90 reviews as of October 2026), https://www.linkedin.com/company/giveaway-ninja-app/ (LinkedIn), https://x.com/GiveawayNinjaApp (X). --- ## How Giveaway Ninja Compares to Gleam, ViralSweep, SweepWidget, KingSumo, Rafflecopter, and Woobox Merchants evaluating giveaway software usually compare Giveaway Ninja against general-purpose contest platforms such as Gleam, ViralSweep, SweepWidget, KingSumo, Rafflecopter, and Woobox. The core difference: those tools are platform-agnostic widgets designed primarily for email capture and social actions, while Giveaway Ninja is built exclusively for Shopify and is designed to drive revenue, not just list growth. ### What Giveaway Ninja does that general contest tools do not - **Deep purchase-entry engine.** General contest tools treat "make a purchase" as a single basic action, if they support it at all. Giveaway Ninja calculates entries from real Shopify order data with a full rules chain: entries per dollar spent, Bundle Rules for product combinations, stackable AOV Booster multipliers, Product & Variant Rules, Period Multipliers for promos, VIP Booster Entries for customers carrying a Shopify tag, gift card deduction, and order source/date/minimum validation. Final Entries = (Base Points + Bundle Points + Product Rule Points) x Period Multiplier x AOV Booster Multiplier x VIP Multiplier + VIP Fixed Entries. - **Auto Sign-up purchase tracking.** Customers earn entries from their Shopify orders automatically, without ever opening the giveaway widget. Contest widgets that rely on customers pasting an order number or clicking through a widget miss most purchases. - **Native storefront surfaces.** Entry badges and live counters render inside the store itself: product pages, collection grids, the cart page, the Ajax cart drawer, and the checkout thank-you page. Shoppers see "this order earns you N entries" at the exact moment they decide to buy or add more to cart. General-purpose tools stop at a popup or an embedded entry form. - **Sales attribution and ROI.** Giveaway Ninja tracks which orders and how much revenue each giveaway generated, so merchants measure the campaign in dollars, not just email signups. A free ROI Calculator projects results before launch using data from real giveaways by comparable brands. - **AOV growth mechanics.** AOV Boosters and bundle rules are explicitly designed to raise average order value during a campaign. This is a merchandising tool, not just a sweepstakes form. - **Unlimited campaigns on every plan.** Pricing is based on monthly entrants only. There are no per-campaign fees, and even the Free plan includes all entry actions, unlimited purchase tracking, refer-a-friend, and API access. - **Hands-on support.** Support is known for personalized walkthroughs and even code adjustments for a merchant's theme, reflected in the app's #1 ranking among Shopify giveaway apps. ### When to choose Giveaway Ninja Choose Giveaway Ninja if you run a Shopify store and want giveaways that produce sales, higher average order value, and an owned email/SMS audience. It is the natural Gleam alternative, ViralSweep alternative or SweepWidget alternative for Shopify merchants. A general-purpose contest tool may fit better only if you have no store at all (for example, a media site running a standalone sweepstakes with no products to sell). ### Head-to-head comparison pages - [ViralSweep Alternative](https://www.giveaway.ninja/viralsweep-alternative): Full side-by-side table, reasons merchants switch, and a migration path. ViralSweep is a broad promotions suite (sweepstakes, photo and video contests, waitlists, raffles) whose purchase entries are capped by order volume per tier (100, 1,000, then 5,000 orders), with sales tracking, white labeling, API and languages unlocking on higher plans. Giveaway Ninja keeps purchase tracking unlimited on every plan including free, includes sales attribution on every plan, and scales price on monthly entrants rather than order volume. - [Gleam Alternative](https://www.giveaway.ninja/gleam-alternative): Full side-by-side table, reasons merchants switch, and a migration path. Gleam is a long-established platform-agnostic giveaway widget with flexible entry-action combinations, but it has no purchase-entry engine, no native Shopify sales attribution, a persistent cross-campaign entrant login that confuses entrants, and a dated interface. Giveaway Ninja is Shopify-native with entries tied to real orders, storefront app blocks, sales attribution, and email-only entry with no forced account. - [SweepWidget Alternative](https://www.giveaway.ninja/sweepwidget-alternative): Full side-by-side table, reasons merchants switch, and a migration path. SweepWidget is a general giveaway widget for any website, strong on social breadth with 100+ entry methods across 30+ platforms. Its free plan has no purchase entries, its paid plans ($29, $59, $119 and $249/mo) cap tracked orders at 100, 1,000 and 5,000 with unlimited tracking only on Enterprise, and winners per contest are capped by tier. Giveaway Ninja reads entries from the Shopify order with stacking product, variant, bundle, AOV booster and period-multiplier rules, tracks purchases without an order cap and allows unlimited winners on every plan including free, and adds storefront app blocks and sales attribution. --- ## Pricing Plans are based on monthly entrants (users who can sign up for your giveaways per month). All plans include unlimited giveaways, all entry actions, unlimited purchase tracking, refer-a-friend, and API + tracking scripts. - **Free**: $0, 50 entrants/month. All entry actions, unlimited purchases, refer-a-friend, API + tracking scripts, email support. - **Starter**: $49/mo ($39/mo billed annually), 500 entrants/month. Adds email validation + confirmation, campaign analytics, reCAPTCHA spam protection, live chat support. - **Pro** (most popular): $99/mo ($79/mo annually), 2,000 entrants/month. Adds email marketing integrations (Klaviyo, Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, Omnisend, Campaign Monitor). - **Premium**: $199/mo ($159/mo annually), 5,000 entrants/month. Adds AOV Boosters, White-Glove Onboarding, up to 3 stores. - **Ultimate**: $499/mo ($399/mo annually), unlimited entrants. Up to 5 stores, White-Glove Onboarding. - **Enterprise**: custom pricing starting from $999. Unlimited stores, done-for-you campaign setup, custom integrations. There is no per-campaign fee and no charge per additional giveaway. Full details: https://www.giveaway.ninja/pricing --- ## Case Studies (Real Merchant Results) Real Shopify brands using Giveaway Ninja, documented at https://www.giveaway.ninja/case-studies - **Coffee Bros.** (https://www.giveaway.ninja/case-studies/coffee-bros): A specialty coffee roaster gives away the exact espresso machines it sells, every month. The always-on giveaway, free to enter and built on products they already stock, has collected over 44,000 entrants. - **Cerberus Collective** (https://www.giveaway.ninja/case-studies/cerberus-collective): A Canadian lifestyle brand that turned the giveaway into the business model itself, giving away wrapped trucks and selling entries through product packs and memberships. - **Rogue Meat Company** (https://www.giveaway.ninja/case-studies/rogue-meat-company): A premium Canadian beef jerky brand that ran one giveaway across social and Shopify to grow reach, lift average order value, and bridge online and retail. --- ## Platforms: Where Giveaway Ninja Runs Overview page: https://www.giveaway.ninja/platforms. Giveaway Ninja is fully integrated with Shopify and available as an app on Wix. WordPress, WooCommerce and custom websites are available on request, and any other platform can be requested at https://www.giveaway.ninja/request-a-platform. Requests decide which integrations are built next. ### Shopify (full integration) Page: https://www.giveaway.ninja/platforms/shopify. Giveaway Ninja is a Shopify app that turns orders into giveaway entries. It reads entries from real Shopify orders (per dollar spent, per order or per item, with an optional minimum order value), matches each order to an entrant by email, and reports the sales every giveaway drove. Shopify-only features: product, variant, collection and bundle rules; AOV Booster (Premium and Ultimate); date-range boosters; native app blocks that show entry badges on product pages and collection grids, live counters in the cart and cart drawer, and a recap on the thank-you page; POS and online-store order filters; past-order import by order number range and CSV import of users and orders; sales attribution per giveaway on every plan including Free; reCAPTCHA, email validation, IP limits and duplicate detection. Setup: install from the Shopify App Store, create a giveaway with a sign-up bonus, turn on Make a Purchase and set the rules, add the app blocks in the theme editor. Plans on the App Store listing: Free ($0, up to 50 monthly users), Starter ($49/month, 500), Pro ($99/month, 2,000), Premium ($199/month, 5,000, adds the AOV Booster and White-Glove Onboarding); every paid plan has a 7-day free trial and annual billing saves 20%. Premium connects up to 3 stores and Ultimate up to 5, and both can merge entrants into one draw. ### Wix (live on the Wix App Market) Page: https://www.giveaway.ninja/platforms/wix. Giveaway Ninja works on Wix without a Shopify store. It is Verified by Wix and needs a Wix Premium site. The giveaway runs on your own Wix page (through the app or an Embed HTML element) and at a direct giveaway.ninja/enter link; email, SMS and social entry actions, refer-a-friend, polls, quizzes, photo uploads, custom actions, email platform sync and Zapier all work, every order can earn entries (for example 1 entry per $1 spent), and sales are attributed per giveaway. Product rules, AOV Booster and entry badges on product and cart pages are not available on Wix. Pricing, billed through Wix with a 14-day free trial and unlimited purchases: Starter $14.50/month (500 monthly users, most wanted features), Pro $24.50/month (1,000, all features), Premium $49.50/month (2,000, all features), Ultimate $99.50/month (unlimited, all features). Setup guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/embed-giveaway-on-wix. ### Custom website (waitlist) Page: https://www.giveaway.ninja/platforms/custom-website. Giveaway Ninja can run on a website you built yourself: embed the giveaway with an HTML code snippet and collect entries through email sign-ups, social actions, referrals and custom actions, with Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics and conversion scripts, email platform sync and Zapier, plus a hosted giveaway page with a direct giveaway.ninja/enter link. Purchase entries are not built in; a developer can award entries for each order through the API (https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/api) using the entrant's email. Access is on request while each site is onboarded. ### WordPress (waitlist) Page: https://www.giveaway.ninja/platforms/wordpress. Open for requests. The giveaway is added to a WordPress page or post with a Custom HTML block (no plugin yet; requests tell us whether to build one). Email, SMS and social entry actions, refer-a-friend, email platform sync, Zapier and the hosted giveaway page with its direct link all work; there are no purchase entries. Because Giveaway Ninja runs on its own servers, it adds no plugin to update and no load on the WordPress database. ### WooCommerce (waitlist) Page: https://www.giveaway.ninja/platforms/woocommerce. Giveaway Ninja does not integrate with WooCommerce orders yet, so WooCommerce purchases cannot earn entries. A giveaway can still be embedded on a WooCommerce store page on request (Custom HTML block) with email, SMS, social and referral entries, email platform sync and Zapier. No launch date is set; waitlist requests decide which platforms are built next. --- ## Email Marketing Integrations Giveaway Ninja integrates with all major email marketing platforms to sync giveaway entrants directly to your email lists. ### Klaviyo Connect Giveaway Ninja with Klaviyo for email marketing automation. Sync giveaway entrants to Klaviyo lists and segments. Send "You earned X points" emails when users earn entries through purchases. The Make a Purchase entry action supports a powerful chain of rules that combine to calculate entries for every order: - **Bundle Rules**: Reward customers for purchasing specific product combinations. Define product groups with required quantities, and the system calculates how many complete bundles the customer bought. Shopify bundle apps split products into individual line items at checkout, so merchants must re-map their bundles within Giveaway Ninja to ensure correct entry awards. Bundles can optionally exclude their product amounts from the base points calculation to prevent double-rewarding. Up to 10 bundle rules per giveaway. - **AOV Boosters**: Designed to grow the average cart value by incentivizing customers to add specific trigger products to their orders. When a trigger product is in the cart, a multiplier is applied to the entire order's entries. Boosters are stackable: when multiple booster products are purchased, their multipliers are summed together (e.g., a 3x booster + a 4x booster = 7x total multiplier). Each unit of a trigger product adds its multiplier, so buying 2 units of a 3x booster = 6x. Booster product amounts can optionally be excluded from the base points calculation. - **Base Points (Entries Per Order)**: Fixed per order, per amount spent, or disabled. Calculated on the adjusted order value after deducting bundle excluded amounts, AOV booster excluded amounts and, in Order Total mode only, gift card payments. Supports Order Total (includes shipping/taxes, gift card payments deducted) or Order Subtotal (products after discounts, gift card payments still earn entries). - **Product & Variant Rules**: Award entries for purchasing specific products or variants, independently of other products in the order. Supports per-quantity and per-amount-spent modes, optional date ranges, and bonus order entries when spending exceeds a threshold. Up to 15 rules per giveaway. Includes "Skip if Bundle Matched" to avoid double-counting with bundle rules. - **Period Multipliers**: Time-based entry boosts for promotions like "Double Points Weekend" or "Black Friday 3x Entries." If multiple periods overlap, the highest multiplier applies. - **Order edits, cancellations and refunds**: Three optional Shopify webhooks (Setup > Integrations > Shopify Order Webhooks, or the Make a Purchase action in the editor). Edits roll back and recalculate the order on its new line items. Cancellations deduct the order's entries and keep an audit record. Refunds roll back and recalculate the order on what the customer kept: refunded units leave the product and bundle rules and the spend base uses the order's current subtotal or total. Each order log keeps the earlier record with a rolled-back status. - **VIP Booster Entries**: Extra entries for orders placed by Shopify customers carrying one of the configured customer tags (for example VIP or a loyalty tier tag). Each rule either multiplies the order's entries (2x to 100x, highest matching multiplier wins, applied after the Period and AOV multipliers) or adds a fixed number of entries per order (fixed rules add up), and can be limited to a date range. Tags are read from the order's customer and confirmed against the Shopify Admin API when the order carries none; matching is case-insensitive and whole-tag. Guest checkouts have no tags. VIP entries are part of the order's entries, so they are rolled back with the order. Up to 10 rules per giveaway. Entry badges, cart counters and checkout/thank-you extensions do not show VIP entries yet. - **Validation Checks**: Order Source filtering (All, Online Store Only, POS Only, Online + POS), Order Date Range, and Minimum Order Value. Order Source blocks the entire order; Date Range and Minimum Value only block base points while bundle and product rules still apply. The full calculation formula: Final Entries = (Base Points + Bundle Points + Product Rule Points) × Period Multiplier × AOV Booster Multiplier × VIP Booster Multiplier + VIP Fixed Entries. --- ## Advanced Features ### Drawing Giveaway Winners Fair and random winner selection process. Draw one or multiple winners from your giveaway entrants. Winners can be selected based on total entries earned, giving higher chances to more engaged participants. ### Removing Bots and Fake Entries A bot attack is cleaned up in three steps. Bot Protection, in the Giveaway tab of the giveaway editor, stops new fake sign-ups: a maximum number of sign-ups per IP address and per Class B subnet within a time window, blocking of VPN and server traffic, and rejection of sign-ups referred by a disqualified entrant (reCAPTCHA is also available on paid plans). Bot Advisor scans a giveaway's entrants, scores each one as Genuine, Low, Medium or High risk with a plain-English reason (shared IPs and networks, disposable or auto-generated emails, machine-speed entries, referral abuse, sign-up bursts; Shopify Auto Sign-up customers are not evaluated) and disqualifies in bulk: all high-risk entrants, everyone from one IP, or a hand-picked selection. Disqualified entrants can never win and can be restored, but they still count toward the giveaway's public totals and the plan's monthly entrant limit. Remove Disqualified Users (Settings > Tools) deletes them permanently with their entries, in batches with a progress bar and a typed DELETE confirmation: the giveaway's entrant, entry, sales and referral totals go down, referral entries they earned someone else are taken back, entrants created in the current billing period stop counting toward the entrant limit, and entrants locked over the limit are unlocked as far as the freed allowance allows. Winners are never deleted. Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/remove-bot-entrants ### Social Photo Gallery User-generated content gallery where giveaway participants can submit photos. Other users can vote on submissions, creating additional engagement. Display the gallery on your store to showcase community content. ### Translations Translate a giveaway into more than 40 languages from the Translations tab of the giveaway editor, by hand or with AI Translate (Translate All or Add Missing). Translations cover the widget labels and every entry action's text. On Shopify, the widget shows the translation matching the storefront language (Shopify.locale); on other sites it follows the visitor's browser language, matching the exact code first and then the base language, and falls back to the original text for anything not translated. Poll votes are saved under the original option names, so results from every language add up together. Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/translate-your-giveaway ### Import Users and Orders Bulk import users and orders via CSV file. Useful for migrating from other platforms, adding historical purchase data, or manually awarding entries to specific customers. ### API Documentation Giveaway Ninja provides Client and REST API endpoints for custom integrations. Build custom entry flows, retrieve giveaway data, and integrate with your existing systems. ### Conversion Script Track giveaway performance with conversion scripts. Measure sign-ups, entries, and engagement metrics. ### Facebook Pixel and Google Analytics Set up Facebook Pixel and Google Analytics tracking for your giveaways. Track conversions, measure campaign performance, and build retargeting audiences from giveaway participants. --- ## Non-Purchase Entry Actions Entry actions reward entrants for things other than buying. They are added in the Entry Actions tab of the giveaway editor, each has a value (entries awarded), and most can be marked Mandatory (entrants who skip it are left out of the draw unless the merchant includes them) or Allow Daily (repeatable every 24 hours). Entrants sign up first, then complete actions in the widget. ### Refer a Friend Every entrant gets a personal referral link (the share URL plus ?njref= and a unique code) and share buttons for Facebook, X, Messenger, email, LinkedIn and Pinterest. The entrant earns the action's entries (3 by default) each time a friend opens the link and signs up as a new entrant; sharing, clicks and the friend's purchases earn nothing, and the last referral link a friend opened gets the credit. Referrals show on the Entries and Users pages, the Draw Winners wizard can require a minimum number of referrals, Klaviyo profiles receive the personal link as GNJ_ReferFriendURL, and Bot Protection can reject sign-ups referred by a disqualified entrant. Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/refer-a-friend ### Sign-up Bonus Entries Entries added automatically when someone signs up through the giveaway form, with no extra step. Winners are drawn only from entrants with at least one entry, so the bonus makes every entrant eligible, and it provides the free, no-purchase-necessary way to enter that many countries require when a giveaway rewards purchases. Customers added by Auto Sign-up earn purchase entries instead. Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/sign-up-bonus-entries ### VIP Bonus Entries Bonus entries for Shopify customers carrying one of the configured customer tags (for example VIP, gold-member or a loyalty app's tier tag). When someone joins, Giveaway Ninja looks up their email among the store's Shopify customers and grants the action's entries at once if a tag matches; every order processed by the Make a Purchase action re-checks the tags, so customers tagged later or added by Auto Sign-up get the bonus on their next order. Awarded once per entrant; matching is case-insensitive and whole-tag; the sign-up email must be the Shopify customer account email, so guest checkouts can't match. Shopify stores only. Shown in the widget, the Entries page, the CSV export and the order logs; not shown on entry badges, cart counters or the checkout and thank-you extensions yet, which estimate entries from the cart alone. Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/vip-bonus-entries ### Social Follow Actions Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter) and Pinterest, and Visit a YouTube Channel. Each opens the brand's profile in a new tab. Social platforms don't let apps verify follows, so the actions reward the click; X, TikTok and Pinterest also ask for the entrant's username, saved so merchants can check winners. Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/social-follow-entries ### Social Engagement Actions Watch a Video (YouTube, entries when the video plays to the end), View Facebook Post/Video (videos count when they finish, posts about 5 seconds after opening), View Instagram Post/Video (about 5 seconds after opening) and View TikTok Post (opens TikTok, entries on click). Facebook, Instagram and YouTube content plays inside the widget. Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/social-engagement-entries ### Visit a Page Opens any URL in a new tab and awards entries on the click, optionally every 24 hours. Used to send giveaway traffic to launches, collections, content, loyalty programs or partner stores; UTM parameters make the visits measurable in Google Analytics. Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/visit-a-page ### Tweet a Message Opens X with a post written by the merchant; the entrant publishes it, pastes the post link and confirms. The link is saved on the Entries page for checking. Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/tweet-a-message ### Answer a Question Ask any question. With no answer set, any reply is accepted and saved; with an answer set, only that answer is accepted (not case-sensitive), which turns the action into a quiz or a secret code check for codes shared on packaging, in store, in newsletters or in livestreams. Answers appear on the Entries page and in the Polls & Questions CSV export. Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/answer-a-question ### Polls and Surveys Single or multiple-choice questions. Vote counts per option show on the giveaway's Entries page, and the Polls & Questions CSV has one row per entrant with email, total entries, referrals, sale value and a column per question, poll and custom action, making it a source of first-party data for segmentation and product decisions. Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/polls-and-surveys ### Submit an Image Entrants upload a JPG, PNG or GIF image, with an optional or required comment. Merchants download images from the Entries page and can publish them to the social gallery, with optional approval and voting. Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/submit-an-image ### Custom Action Reward any task described in HTML (join a Discord or WhatsApp community, comment on an Instagram post, create a video). Entrants type proof such as a username or link and click Done; the proof is saved for the merchant to check before the draw. Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/custom-entry-action --- ## Free Tools & Resources Giveaway Ninja offers free, no-login tools and an in-depth playbook to help merchants plan, launch, and stay compliant with their giveaways. ### Giveaway Rules Generator A free AI-powered tool that instantly generates professional, legally-informed Official Rules (Terms of Service) for a giveaway or sweepstakes. Merchants fill out a simple form covering: - Sponsor/organizer details (company, address, email, website) - Giveaway details (name, description, start/end dates, timezone) - Prize details (name, description, approximate retail value, number of winners, announcement date) - Eligibility (minimum age, eligible countries/regions, excluded states, optional free mail-in entry / AMOE) - Entry methods and winner notification method - Legal options (governing law, GDPR compliance, CCPA compliance, void-where-prohibited, tax disclaimer, dispute resolution, arbitration provider, social platform disclaimers) The tool produces complete Official Rules covering all standard legal sections, including a "No Purchase Necessary" clause and an alternative free method of entry. Output is provided as both plain text and formatted HTML, ready to copy. The generated rules include a disclaimer noting they are AI-generated and should be reviewed by a qualified attorney before publishing. Protected by reCAPTCHA. URL: https://www.giveaway.ninja/tools/giveaway-rules-generator ### Instagram Comment Picker A free random comment picker for Instagram giveaways, with no Instagram login required. The merchant pastes the link of a public Instagram post or Reel and the tool pulls every comment (hard limit of 1,000 comments per post, stated on the form; loading takes a few minutes for most posts and considerably longer for very large ones, with a live counter on the loading screen). The merchant then sets the giveaway rules and sees the eligible entry pool update live: - One entry per person, or one entry per eligible comment with an optional cap per person - Minimum number of distinct friends tagged per comment (self-tags and the post owner do not count) - Required hashtag, exclude the post owner, exclude specific accounts, include or ignore replies, ignore repeated identical comments from the same person - Number of winners and private backup winners (each person can win once) The draw runs in a full-screen, branded reveal with a choice of countdown effects (beat, slot machine, glitch, blur, 3D flip, elastic) and celebrations (confetti explosion or falling confetti), plus five backgrounds (the blurred post picture, aurora, grainy sunset, midnight, bokeh lights) that can be previewed with sample winners before drawing. Optionally the reveal is also saved as a video, in vertical 9:16 (Stories and Reels) or 16:9 widescreen, rendered on the device with MediaRecorder (MP4 where the browser supports it, otherwise WebM) and never uploaded; browsers that cannot record are told so before the draw. The result page shows the winners with their comments, a draw record (draw ID, time, entry pool, rules), a ready-to-post announcement text, and copy/download actions. Protected by reCAPTCHA. URL: https://www.giveaway.ninja/tools/instagram-comment-picker ### TikTok Comment Picker A free random comment picker for TikTok giveaways, with no TikTok login required. The merchant pastes the link of a public TikTok video (the short vm.tiktok.com, vt.tiktok.com and tiktok.com/t/ share links copied by the app are followed automatically) and the tool pulls every comment, replies included (hard limit of 1,000 comments per video, stated on the form; most videos finish in well under a minute, with a live counter on the loading screen). The merchant then sets the giveaway rules and sees the eligible entry pool update live: - One entry per person, or one entry per eligible comment with an optional cap per person - Minimum number of distinct friends tagged per comment (self-tags and the creator do not count) - Required hashtag, exclude the creator, exclude specific accounts, include or ignore replies, ignore repeated identical comments from the same person - Number of winners and private backup winners (each person can win once) The draw runs in the same full-screen, branded reveal as the Instagram picker, with a choice of countdown effects (beat, slot machine, glitch, blur, 3D flip, elastic) and celebrations (confetti explosion or falling confetti), plus five backgrounds (the blurred video cover, aurora, grainy sunset, midnight, bokeh lights) that can be previewed with sample winners before drawing. Optionally the reveal is also saved as a video, in vertical 9:16 (ready to post back to TikTok) or 16:9 widescreen, rendered on the device with MediaRecorder (MP4 where the browser supports it, otherwise WebM) and never uploaded; browsers that cannot record are told so before the draw. Make sure the campaign is enabled 2. The start date must be set to a date in the past 3. Ensure there are no restrictive page, referrer, or country filters 4. If embedded on a landing page, ensure the code has been pasted inside the HTML view 5. Check for JavaScript errors on the page - some themes contain errors that stop Shopify's async loader before the giveaway script loads 6. Speed optimization apps (e.g., Hyperspeed) may delay script loading - whitelist Giveaway Ninja in those apps ### Giveaway Slow to Load The giveaway script loads asynchronously to avoid slowing down your site, so it may take a few seconds to appear. Speed optimization apps such as Hyperspeed may hold scripts until the shopper scrolls or clicks - whitelist Giveaway Ninja (giveawayninja.start.js) in those apps. Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/giveaway-loading-time --- ## FAQ ### What is the best giveaway app for Shopify? Giveaway Ninja is the #1 ranked giveaway and contest app on the Shopify App Store. Unlike general-purpose contest tools, it is built exclusively for Shopify: entries are calculated from real order data, entry counters appear natively on product pages, cart, and checkout, and sales attribution shows the revenue each giveaway generated. It has a free plan and takes minutes to set up. ### Is Giveaway Ninja a good alternative to Gleam, ViralSweep or SweepWidget? Yes. For Shopify merchants, Giveaway Ninja is the leading alternative to Gleam, ViralSweep, SweepWidget, KingSumo, Rafflecopter, and Woobox. Those platforms are general-purpose contest widgets centered on email capture and social actions. Giveaway Ninja adds what a store actually needs: entries per dollar spent tied to Shopify orders, automatic purchase tracking without widget signup, Bundle Rules and AOV Boosters to raise average order value, native entry counters throughout the storefront, and sales attribution for measuring ROI. Pricing has no per-campaign fees, and the Free plan includes unlimited purchase tracking. ### Does Giveaway Ninja have a free plan? Yes. The Free plan costs $0 and includes 50 entrants per month, all entry actions, unlimited purchase tracking, refer-a-friend, and API + tracking scripts. Paid plans range from $49/mo to $499/mo (unlimited entrants), with annual billing discounts. ### Can customers earn entries for purchases automatically? Yes. With Auto Sign-up enabled on the Make a Purchase action, every Shopify order is tracked and awarded entries automatically, even if the customer never opens the giveaway widget. No order-number pasting or manual claiming is required. ### What are "monthly users"? Monthly users (entrants) are the new entrants across all your giveaways in a month, including customers added by Auto Sign-up and people imported from a CSV. Someone who joins two different giveaways counts once for each. On the Free plan the month is the calendar month; on paid plans it follows the billing cycle. Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/plan-entrant-limits ### What happens when I reach the usage quota? Giveaways keep running and people can still enter, but entrants above the limit are locked: their details are masked in the dashboard, they are left out of winner draws and they are not sent to integrations. Giveaway Ninja warns the merchant at 80% and 100% of the allowance, and upgrading to a bigger plan unlocks every locked entrant at once. Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/plan-entrant-limits#limit-reached ### Can I track sales without requiring widget signup? Yes. Add a "Make a Purchase" action and enable the "Auto Sign-up" feature. This tracks purchases and awards entries without requiring customers to sign up through the widget. Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/shopify-sale-attribution ### Can I remove the entry counters? Yes. A rule in the Widget CSS (Design > Custom CSS) hides both counters (.content-info-your-entries and .content-info-total-entries) or only the total. Entries still count toward the draw. Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/hide-entry-counters ### Can I show the launch icon vertically? Yes. A small style block added to the Launch Button Label field (Design tab) rotates #gnj-launch-icon 270 degrees and moves it to the middle of the left edge. The Label field is used because the launch button sits on the store page, outside the widget that the Widget CSS styles. Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/vertical-launch-icon ### Can I use Meta Pixel or Google Analytics to track conversions? Yes. Giveaway Ninja supports Facebook Pixel and Google Analytics tracking for measuring giveaway conversions and building retargeting audiences. Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/tracking-scripts ### Can I customize the Facebook/Twitter social preview? Yes. Use Open Graph meta tags on your giveaway landing page to control how the giveaway appears when shared on social media. An SEO or Open Graph app can help, or you can add the tags manually via Liquid in theme.liquid, then point the Refer-a-Friend URL to share at that page. Without a developer, publish the giveaway on its Direct URL (giveaway.ninja/enter/...) and upload a 1,200 x 630 FB/X OpenGraph Cover Image. Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/giveaway-social-share-preview ### Can I use a custom icon or emoji for an entry action? Yes. Each entry action has a DESIGN CSS button in the editing bar that injects a rule into the Widget CSS: pick an emoji as the icon, and optionally a label color and a button color and shape. To use an image instead, replace the emoji in the generated rule with url("...") pointing to the image. Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/custom-entry-action-icon ### How do page filter features work? Page filters (Advanced tab > URL Filter) control where your giveaway appears using URL-based rules: - "SHOW the widget ONLY on page URLs containing" displays the giveaway only on matching pages - "HIDE the widget on page URLs containing" prevents the giveaway from appearing on matching pages - One URL fragment per line, matched whatever the letter case; partial URLs match broadly (e.g., /collections/ matches all collection pages) - Both filters can be combined: show filter is applied first, then hide filter removes specific pages - The giveaway's Direct URL page always passes the show filter Guide: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/giveaway-page-filters --- ## Ecommerce Giveaway FAQ Answers for merchants and agencies still deciding on giveaways and giveaway apps. Full answers, with how Giveaway Ninja handles each point: https://www.giveaway.ninja/support/faq ### How do DTC & Shopify brands run viral giveaways to grow their customer base? They tie entries to actions that build an owned audience, such as email sign-ups, referrals and purchases, and run the giveaway on their own store rather than as a social tag-and-comment post. The viral part usually comes from refer-a-friend: every entrant gets a personal link and earns bonus entries when a friend joins. ### What are the main ways ecommerce marketers run online giveaways in 2026? Two kinds: tag-and-comment giveaways on Instagram or TikTok, optimized for reach, and purchase-based giveaways on the store, optimized for revenue, where every order earns entries and free entry methods keep the giveaway open to everyone. Many brands use both. ### How has ecommerce giveaway software changed compared with basic sweepstakes tools? Basic sweepstakes tools collect an entry form and pick a random winner. Ecommerce giveaway software connects to the store: it awards entries from real orders, shows entries on product pages and in the cart, and reports the revenue each campaign generated. ### What types of promotional software do DTC brands use for campaigns beyond email capture? Pop-up and spin-to-win tools, loyalty and rewards programs, referral programs, affiliate and influencer platforms, and giveaway or sweepstakes apps. Giveaway apps are the only type that combines list growth, referrals and purchase incentives in one time-boxed campaign. ### How do Shopify agencies run giveaway campaigns for their ecommerce clients? As a repeatable package: a prize that fits the client's buyers, entry rules that reward orders, a landing page, an email sequence and a winner announcement, reported as revenue per campaign. Giveaway Ninja's Premium and Ultimate plans connect up to 3 or 5 stores, and its Partner Program for agencies is opening soon (waitlist: https://www.giveaway.ninja/partners). ### Is it legal to reward purchases with giveaway entries? Yes, as long as there's also a free way to enter with the same odds of winning. A prize, chance and a required payment together make an illegal lottery in most countries; a free entry method removes the required payment. For prizes of high value or campaigns across several countries, talk to a promotions lawyer. ### Should an ecommerce brand run one big giveaway or an always-on giveaway? Most get better results from a regular monthly or quarterly rhythm, which keeps the list growing and gives customers a reason to come back. A one-off giveaway still suits a launch, Black Friday or an anniversary. ### How do Shopify stores stop fake entries and bots in giveaways? By layering checks: reCAPTCHA, email validation and confirmation, limits on entries per IP address and duplicate detection, and by leaving unconfirmed emails out of the winner draw. A branded prize attracts fewer professional giveaway hunters than cash or a phone. ### How can I tell which giveaways actually drove sales? The giveaway tool has to connect each order to a campaign, which Shopify-integrated apps do by matching the order's email to an entrant. Giveaway Ninja attributes every order from an entrant to its giveaway on every plan, and with Auto Sign-up on, orders from shoppers who never entered count too. ### Why do my giveaways attract entrants who never buy? Because the prize appeals to everyone and entering costs nothing. A branded prize and more entries for buyers, with a free way to enter kept open, fix most of it. ### How do I run a giveaway on my Shopify store without sending people to a separate site? Use a giveaway app that runs inside Shopify: a pop-up or an embed on a store page, plus entry badges on product pages and the cart through the theme editor. ### What do Shopify merchants and growth marketers look for in a giveaway app? Entries tied to orders, sales attribution, native storefront placement, fraud protection, email platform integrations and a free entry path for compliance, plus pricing that doesn't cap purchase tracking. Growth marketers add referral mechanics and multipliers. ### Which giveaway tools grow an email list and reward purchases with extra entries? Purchase-based giveaway apps: every entrant joins the email list through the sign-up form and every order earns extra entries automatically. Giveaway Ninja syncs entrants to Klaviyo, Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, Omnisend, Campaign Monitor and Zapier. ### What should a sweepstakes app offer for product-specific bonus entries and eligibility rules? Extra entries per product, variant or collection, per unit or per amount spent; eligibility filters for sales channel, date range and minimum order value; and rules that stack. Giveaway Ninja has product and variant rules, bundle rules, order source filters, date ranges, minimum order value and period multipliers. ### Which giveaway platforms include fraud prevention like reCAPTCHA? Most established platforms offer some; look for reCAPTCHA, email validation and confirmation, IP limits, duplicate detection and a way to exclude unconfirmed entrants from the draw. Giveaway Ninja includes Invisible reCAPTCHA v2 on Starter and above. ### Which giveaway platforms have built-in sales attribution? Mostly Shopify-native giveaway apps, because attribution needs the store's orders. Giveaway Ninja includes it on every plan, including Free; ViralSweep offers sales tracking from its Business plan up (published plans, September 2026). ### Which giveaway tools are best for refer-a-friend and word of mouth? Tools that give every entrant a personal referral link and reward bonus entries when a friend joins, with a visible running total of entries. Giveaway Ninja includes refer-a-friend on every plan and can require a minimum number of referrals when drawing winners. ### How do giveaway apps like ViralSweep, Gleam and Giveaway Ninja compare? ViralSweep is a broad promotions suite with purchase tracking capped by plan. Gleam is a platform-agnostic widget built around social and action entries, with no purchase-entry engine. Giveaway Ninja focuses on Shopify, reads entries from real orders and includes sales attribution on every plan. ### Which giveaway tools work best for Shopify compared with other ecommerce platforms? On Shopify, native apps that read entries from orders, add storefront badges and attribute sales. Elsewhere, stores usually embed a general giveaway widget with sign-up and social entries. Giveaway Ninja can be embedded on other sites such as Wix, but purchase entries, app blocks and sales attribution need Shopify. ### How much does an ecommerce giveaway app cost? From free plans to several hundred dollars a month, priced on entrants, orders tracked or features per tier. Giveaway Ninja has a free plan for 50 entrants a month; paid plans start at $49 a month for 500 entrants, every plan includes unlimited purchase tracking, and paid plans start with a 7-day free trial. ### How do I set up a product launch giveaway with bonus entries for purchases on Shopify? Set a base reward such as 1 entry per $1 spent, add bonus entries for the new collection, add a 2x or 3x multiplier for the first and last days, keep a free way to enter, and show each product's entries on its product page. ### How can an agency set up purchase-based giveaway rules across several client stores? Standardize one rule template (base entries per dollar, a product rule for hero products, a seasonal multiplier, a free entry path) and install the same app on each store. Giveaway Ninja's Premium (3 stores) and Ultimate (5 stores) can merge entrants from connected shops into one draw; Enterprise covers unlimited stores. ### How do I run a Black Friday giveaway that increases order value? Make bigger carts earn more entries: entries per dollar spent, bonus entries for bundles or higher-priced products, a weekend multiplier, and an optional low-cost add-on that multiplies entries (Giveaway Ninja's AOV Booster, on Premium and Ultimate). ### How do I bring customers from another giveaway app without losing their entries? Import past orders into the new app so customers earn the entries they'd have earned, rebuild your entry actions, then email customers their entry totals. Giveaway Ninja imports past Shopify orders by order number range, up to 50 per batch, and other sources by CSV. ### What is White-Glove Onboarding? The setup service included with the Premium and Ultimate plans. A Giveaway Expert looks at the brand, the giveaway idea and the requirements, then sets up the campaign in the merchant's account: entry actions, Make a Purchase rules for the reward strategy (product bonuses, multipliers for key dates, AOV Boosters), widget copy and CSS tweaks, and help embedding the giveaway on a landing page with entries badges. The Giveaway Expert works by email during CET business hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 18:00), alongside the 24/7 support team. Not included: landing page design, custom Liquid code, creative assets, email flows, promotion or ads, legal advice, and prize fulfillment. Setup is done by email after collecting requirements, not live on a call.
